We just kill those and throw them in the bushes. My buddy snagged one while fly fishing in the spring, I bet it weighed 5 pounds, he brought it home to his dad as a joke.

Haha, I did the same down here in for the state record common carp last 3/16/09. I shot a carp that bottomed out my 50 lb. scale, it took over 45 minutes to get it in the boat. But wait here's the kicker, we had looked at the record wrong for Texas common carp and thought it was way bigger than the one I shot. So we took a picture and thought nothing more of it until the next morning I looked again and the old state record was 46.xx lbs. So the old record still stands and my "record" is long gone. I will post pics of it on here later, it's a beast! (Sorry for jacking the thread congrats on the new Ky state record and realizing it)

Thanks guys, wasn't for sure about it being a record at first had to have a biologist verify the species we wasn't for sure if it was a spotted or redhorse. I'm just getting started, missed the ky state spotted gar record by a pound last night. My goal is to break 2 more this summer.
