Nice fish. Biggest one I've caught this year was a 5 pounder, but I'll take 3-5 pounders all day. My big bass catching has tapered off since I moved to Missouri. What I would like to catch is a nice smallmouth.
It's a fact that 70 percent of the people who purchase heavier tackle do so with the categorical I just lost a huge snook! Einstein Hairdo. The other 30 percent have either Tarpon Fever or are sporting a hand cramped into a claw from a deepwater grouper.

I dont have any pictures this year becuase i havent caught anything really that big.

first day out I caught a 7.5 but normally we get a few over 8 pounds each year.

My biggest to this day is a 9.8# largemouth :hammer:

Great looking fish you got there, did you let him go so he'll get bigger for next year

man, i always said when i catch my first big fish over 6lb i would mount it... so its going to the taxidermist today or tomorrow. so im pretty excited. but i caught him off of a Zoom white trick worm... there is actually a little story to this fishing. we had been fishing for about an hour and we were tearing the fish up and my friend hit a big fish and the line broke (16lb test) and so about 30 minutes later i caught this big girl and after we examined the fish we found my friends hook in the fish's mouth. so i thought that was pretty cool the fish bit twice

6lbs is a nice fish, and depending on where you are in the world, it could be a trophy. I personally wouldn't mount one unless it was over 10 lbs, and since the biggest I've ever caught is 7lbs, I haven't had to worry about that. I've caught many fish between 5-7 lbs, and they are nothing to scoff at, but to me not mount worthy.

Thats why you take pic's, get measurements, and get them to make a fiberglass replica. Release that big momma back and let her make babies and get bigger for another year and maybe you'll catch her when she's heavier.

In Texas they have the "ShareLunker" program. Basically when you catch a 13+ pound fish, you take pics and get your fiberglass replica, and then donate the fish to the state fisheries program. This way your lakes are being stocked with bass of better genetics. It seems to be working b/c this year there were at least 3 lakes that broke their lake records in Texas this year.

I'm not sure if other states have this or not, but releasing bass with good genetics is a good thing for the long term.

Wow, those are really cool pics. I have only caught a couple of bass here in Idaho. The biggest was a 2 pound small mouth. Other than that I have caught about a hundred smaller ones. I really want to catch some big ones.

That lake that is in the background of the picture you can go out there late afternoon or early morning and flip a 10 inch black worm and catch a bunch of big bass. I didn't catch but maybe 15 bass out of there all that week but all but one of them we're over 2 pounds. I had a couple 3 and 4 pounders and two about 5. The day I caught the big one it was only about 80 degrees and the wind was from the east right after a cold front. I was out at about 4 o'clock "stress fishing" because of finals just to get away from everything. Only had one bite all afternoon and it turned out to be a not half bad fish :lol3:
