I use it for practice. No problems. Trapshooting has lots of "Brain Worms" and if I shot that stuff in a event those "Worms" will come into my head. :fingerhead: Hard to get over that.

For short distance targets ( trap or sporting ) , I see no difference . I do use 1 1/8 oz loads though , with a little tighter
choke . I normally use a IM for single targets ( 16's and HC ) and stay with a LM / Mod for Sporting .

Hey , with the availability of lead these days , reclaimed is good !

Years ago it was dirt cheap, now it is only $10-15 dollars less than the good stuff but still
a good buy if you can get it.

It might be up to 5 different lead sizes ,maybe even some steel pellets in the bag but it makes
for a great low cost practice load or for shots out to 40-45 yards in a pinch. With the flat sides
and dings, some of the pellets will slide out of the pattern but I still get good breaks and around 80%
patterns on the 40 yard pattern board with my standard loads.
To make it last longer I went to a 7/8 oz. payload for my practice loads and it works for me but a
1 oz. load will work for every thing..................
Pattern at 40yards with a full choke in my O/U........ 30" wide paper.

OK, pardon my ignorance, but where exactly does reclaimed shot come from? I've dug bullets out of backstops or dirt banks for melting into fishing sinkers or decoy anchors but never heard of this before.

There are companies that mine lead shot at different shooting clubs , then clean it and sell it a reclaimed . I sizes of reclaimed
shot ( 9,8,7.5,6's )are close but , mixed together normally so , you just load it and shoot it .

I have shot literally tons of the reclaimed shot over my shooting career and zero complaints as long as the club it comes from has a
ABSOLUTELY NO STEEL SHOT POLICY. I get it when the local club mines and it is fine, but I have bought some from unknown source and run a magnate over the stuff for my own peace of mind. 1 1/8 oz 16 RD wndjmr blue wad, breaks and kills everything I shoot at and hit. I also hunt sharpies, huns, and chukar with this load over pointing dogs.

3200 I am pretty lucky in that respect, 10 minutes from the house and I am in prime hunting ground. When we were still farming it was a little closer, just off the back step.
I have loaded nothing but Red Dot for too many years to change, I also use it in my 45 ACP.

FF

I have done some hunting in the Clark Canyon and Sheridan area with good success but , I was told by some of my friends ,
that live in the Northeast of Mont. , I was wasting me time down there . Big Sky open Range , is what they tell me ?

RED Dot , I'm a little different as I've shot 700 X for so many years for targets and game , I'm afraid to change !
other than Annies or Pot Shoots with the ones I mentioned before .
