22 hornet for yotes?

Postby loudnerd » Tue Jul 12, 2011 8:26 pm

I was curious if my 22 hornet is enough gun for yote hunting? I have a .307 but that just seems like overkill.

 Oh yeah! that will get the job done. I use a .17 HMR and that works for me when I control the yote population on the farm!
If that doesn't light your fire, your woods wet!

This coyote was shot with a .22 hornet. Does he look dead enough for you?

The knock on the hornet is accuracy. They can be improved, but they will never be a .223 or a .204 Ruger.

Perfect! At 100 yards my hornet is a tack driver but I'm getting the best accuracy out of a 45 grain bullet and the weather really starts to effect anything past 100. I may see a .223 in my future hahaha. Thanks for all your help.
