Weasle trapping

Postby trapperDev » Sat Oct 08, 2011 6:56 pm

I have just made some weasle boxes and have never tried to trap weasle before. I have seen some sign and have decided to go after them this winter. Is there any tips that i should know of? For traps, I have gaurded my boxes with rat traps and #1 long springs I figure they should do just fine.

The rat traps will be fine and make sure to set the LS to it almost acts as a body grip on the weasel. They like blood, so if you still have them set and there is snow on the ground use some.

Stake the LS traps down well. I have had coon reach into weasel boxes.

You need alot of sets out to have a high yeild Weasel line. I ended up with 17 last year running over 80 sets. I usually start Christmas week until mid February when the season closes just to make sure they have all turned
