Looks like you have a bunch of prime fur. How'd the auctions turn out for you? None of our stuff down here gets that filled in because it never really gets below about 20 degrees. Nice pics.

We do have some beautiful red fox up here along Lake Ontario, unfortunaltley I still have 42 sitting at the auction house unsold. I did average $22 on the ones I sold at local auction.

Our coyotes are considered "course easterns", but usually sell in the trim trade because of size , some are 50 pound animals. I sent 29 up to NAFA & averaged $31.

Coons were up quite a bit...but then dropped at the May sale for some reason...I think the flooding in the midwest coon states may give them a boost next fall.

Gray fox were in big demand early...but dropped also. They seem to be down in numbers in Central New York...I think alot of the callers put a hurtin on the grays around here. Easy to call. They are not a dispersal animal like the reds & yotes. If you overharvest it could take years for them to come back.

Glad you liked the pics

Sounds like you had about the same prices we did down here. If you really want your fox and yote (or any pelt for that matter) to really stand out, I've heard that putting them in fabric softener after cleaning the blood and all off them makes them real nice. I'm going to start doing that when the season starts up again. How many traps did you have out this year?

Thats just what I do, after fleshing I put coyotes & grays through the washing machine & use fabric softner on the rinse cycle. They puff right up. Make sure you don't use the machine your wife does the wash in...LOL

Don't try this with reds...they never seem to come back to their full look. Some wash reds then put them through a sawdust tumbler, but mine look fine with some brushing as they dry.

I usually run 50-60 traps on my canine line, about a 100 mile loop. You have to cover some ground to catch 50+ yotes around here. May have to tone it down a little if gas prices keep up the way they are. Those big Great Lakes coon sure helped pay the gas last year.

You should get an ATV that would cut down on gas a little bit.

That would be a "red" coyote...quite common here in the east, most are a blondish color, but that one really was RED.
