I'm interested in settin some live traps for a bunch of yotes we have around the house. Any suggestions on what type of bait to use?

Dog food or game meat that's too shot up to eat. It's going to be pretty rough catching them in cage traps. Camoflauge the trap well, and it can be done. It's hard to get them to stick their head in tight areas so you'll need a good sized trap.

Guys around here take them out of the leg hold traps alive, a local guy has a huge pen, I think it's around 400 acres and they release them in it to train dogs on for hunting.

What about snares?

What do you do to bring them under control to transport?

I know a guy that made a live trap out of an old shopping cart. He's caught both foxes and coyotes in it. But like Preacher said, they don't like to get themselves into tight situations so being able to see through it and all around it is essential.
