Sticker Removal

Postby Bandit29 » Thu Aug 20, 2009 12:44 pm

Wanting to re-do the back glass of my truck. Any tricks to help get old stickers off and the adhesive residue left on the glass? The tips of my fingers are getting really sore :help:

A flat razor blade works wonders. Mineral spirits or goo-gone works really well for the residue. Be careful with the mineral spirits though as it can damage the paint.

In this case, I would prefer a razor blade. I like the pinstripe removal wheel for other applications, but wouldn't use it for stickers on back glass.

Acetone, spirits, or thinner on a rag, wiped on the remaining goo and followed up by the razor blade again would clean the rest off.

Try using a heat gun, or a hair dryer. Deffinately a razor blade and mineral spirits or goo gone.

Got everything cleaned off, now I just have to decide what I want to put back on there. Decisions, decisions. I'm thinking about a mallard in the top left corner, a goose in the top right, with a decent size Ducks Unlimited in the middle along the bottom.
