I went from a chevy to a ford recently and I can say that I think the ford is a much nicer vehicle. The interior is much nicer than my chevy, which looked pretty cheap in my opinion.

Whichever one you choose though, you're not going to get a bad truck.

:withstupid:

Couldnt agree more....

But if you were gunna go w/ the 1/2 ton.. I would git the Chevy..

I dunno, but I CANNOT stand the new F-150!! I come from a fullblood Ford family, but I cant take the looks of the new ones. I dont mind the chevy style that much.

Truthfully, I would not git a "new" truk, but one that is like 1 or two years older and save alot of$$$ and use that to put mods on the truk (like bigger tires, radio, etc...), just a thought.

Good Luck and keep us informed!! :salude:

I don't like the new F-150s too (well just how they look that is) even though I know some one who bought one and got it decked out. The truk looked sweet but didn't look like a ford
thanks to the men and woman of the United States Coast Guard- without them I would not be here.

Just bought a new F-150 super cab 4x4 this summer and I'm very pleased with it.
As for the looks I have to say that I like the new look better than the chevy look-a-like that ford used in the 90's.It reminds me of the big box shape that the F series had during the 70's and 80's.
My lab is still the best hunting partner there is.

on the new trucks, 1/2 ton ford over chevy. I constantly replace inner tie rod ends and rear brakes , oh and fuel sending units every 12000 miles. 90 to 98 were the best built chevy trucks.. step up and go to the superduty . do you want a truck or an elcamino..

Thats what I think, but if he is gunna git the half ton... the chevy definitely has the better end of the looks.

Hey drakes_daddy, what kind of fuel mileage are those things getting?

The reason I ask is because my dad has 3/4ton crew cab Sierra with the D-max in it. It gets about 18-21 mpg, whereas my Uncle averages 11 with the same truck with the gas engine. You'll pay in the short run for the diesel engine, but save in the long run.

GSP,

You brought up a good point...

If yer gunna git the gas engine (1/2 ton), then make shure you dont git the biggest one... gas isnt cheap :salude:

Man i would go with a f-150 or f-250. They will out last and definatly be a toufer truck than the chevy. between us and my uncle we have 4 f-150s 1998 to 2003. 3 of them have over 140,000 miles and we haven't done a thing to them. my cousin has a 2001 z71 and even though it does look pretty good it isn't near as tough as the fords. My ucle pulls a horse trailer than weights 10,400lbs plus three horses from his house to his farm about a hour away with a regular cab v6 f-150 5-speed. believe me go with fords.
Take EM!

If you haven't bought the truck yet, go with the Ford. I have a 1995 F-150 that has 320,000 miles on it and I have never had any problems. You might want to go with the F-250. That's a really nice truck.
There's a reason it's called huntin' and fishin' instead of killin' and catchin'
