Exhaust Crossover pipe?

Postby kurto_15 » Wed Sep 05, 2007 6:49 pm

Me and my buddy went out goose hunting tonight in a new spot and I hit a stump that was covered in weeds and smashed the crossover pipe that connects the 2 manifolds and goes to the cat converter. Does anyone know how to fix this or where to find this pipe? To make things worse we didnt get any geese and my buddy got stuck in the mud and I bent his bumper pulling him out.
Thanks

I believe you are talking about the downpipe. You should be able to get one from a local exhaust shop.

what sort of vehicle are you talking about?

sounds like you are talking about the pre-cat y-pipe. If it is crushed you might be able to get that section replaced. Or you may have to get a new tube bent to replace that half of the y-pipe (from the crush to the nearest manifold). an exhaust shop coudl make that call.

Don't do that. At least don't eliminate the cat(s). They are there for a reason.
