There are plenty of people who build 4cyl. Jeeps into good vehicles.
The 4.0's (even the old 258's) won't get stellar gas mileage once you go to 33's. I think I got about 8-10 mpg out of my 85 CJ7 with a 258, 4:11 gears and 33" BFG AT's.
