changing spark plugs in a chevy 350

Postby ctalley » Thu Oct 23, 2008 3:11 pm

I have a chevy silverado with a 350 and cannot get to the number 1 and 2 plugs. The headers are in the way and I cannot get an extension in there. Any suggestions?

Are they aftermarket headers? or are you talking about factory exhaust manifolds with a bent heat shield?

IF it is the heat shield, you can straighten it.

IF it is due to aftermarket tube headers you might need to buy a socket for taking plus out of headers trucks. It is shorter and only uses a wrench. It is pretty cheap. And sometimes the only way to do it unless you take the headers off.
Shoot'em close. Less to pick.

They might get my guns, but they'll get the bullets first !

Try a swivel. If that don't work put a socket on the back of the spark plug socket hopefully that works.
