chevy z71

Has anybody here tried to fit a 285/75/16 on a 2001 stock chevy z71. I am wondering because I have 265's on there now and want to go bigger I am just not shure if it will work without cranking the torshune bars all the way up?

I have a 97 Z-71 w/ 285's. They fit just fine. No clearance problems or rubbing.

Here's a pic of em on there.

i think it would be pretty close to try and put a 285 on a z71. you will probably experience a little rubbing on extreme turns. if you are dead set on the height you 285 consider adjusting to a 70% aspect ratio instead of the 75. that should fit. i would certainly check with a couple of different dealers and/or ideally, contact chevy and see what they say. i have a 2003 tahoe z71 and 2003 silverado z71. both have 265's but the tahoe has the 17" rim. looking at them, i think you should be fine but i believe the 2001 body style is that "in-between" style from the late 90's and the 2003's. hth!

hey man, just thought i would update you on this. i saw a 2002 z71 with bridgestone 285/75 r16's on his truck. i figured i would ask him about them since you were wondering. they look good and he said they didn't rub a bit. i don't think you'll have a problem at all. hth!

let us know what you decide...

285/75-16's will fit great on a stock '99-'06 Z71. I had 285's on my Z71 when it was stock. Nowadays I'm running a 6" suspension lift with 305/70-16's..

I've got a 91 and I got 285s under it, I could prolly fit a size bigger if I turned up the torsion bars.

Chevy 4x4's sit way too low stock. I'm not saying they won't fit, Im just making a comment on the trucks. LOL Don't get me wrong I love Chevy's, but they just dont look right.
