I just got a boat and it has been sitting for about 5 years. I replaced all fluids and plugs and batt. i also cleaned the carbs. it runs good right now, but i am worried it is running lean how do i check to see if it is running lean or rich. the moter is a 40 hp johnson outboard.

You can typically tell if a 2-stroke is running lean/rich by looking at the plugs on it. A google search should tell you what you are looking for.

adjust the carb to lean or richen it.
