camo for truck

Postby shrpshtr » Sat Sep 24, 2005 10:47 pm

hey all,

i wanted to get some opinions and advice. i would like to camo the interior or my truck. i have a guy that can do the upholstery work on the seats, etc. but i was wanting to do the dash, console door hardware, etc. something like what michael wadell had done to his truck in the realtree road trips tv show. i don't know what i could use for the camo though. it would have to be something heat/fade resistant. anyone have any ideas of what's out there for this type of thing? thanks in advance.

WOW  That is some serious stuff. I like it.

I have no idea what you would use, It probably starts with a lot of $$$$$. You might look up the sponsors of the Road Trip show, there might be something there that could lead you to the people who did it. Other than real tree.

I don't know the name of it but there is a new type of paint for car interiors. My friend has used it and liked it. I can try and get the name from him tommorow for you.

the truck was done by Southern Comfort conversions. they usually do packages before a vehicle is sold. they are usually pretty expensive packages too, bringing about an additional 3-5K on the price of a truck. if they were willing to do it then they would want to do the entire camo package which i don't like their particular one. i have an email into them to negotiate this but i haven't heard back yet. in the mean time, i thought i would check around to see if it's something i can do myself. thanks for the replies so far...

Could they dip the items and camo them just like they do on just about any other camo item that we buy? Probably not an easy thing to get done, but it could be done I suppose. There is an article in one of my hunt magazines that tells how they get all that camo on everything we buy. Pretty neat article. I'll try and find out which one it was one.

Hey, did you grab the blind bag with the shells when we left the truck?

If you can't find it at the book store, let me know and I'll post up the companys mentioned in the article. It's a pretty good article, never knew just how they get that camo on all our gear. I got mine at Wal-Mart on the magazine rack.
