Let's say that my truck holds 6 quarts of oil, I know that the oil is constantly circulating through the engine to lube it while running, however, how much oil would you say is realistically in the oil pan at any given time while the truck is runnning.

Depends on the vehicle and size of the pan to some extent. I would guess that probably half the oil is in the pan, but I'll be honest that isn't based on much of anything.

Depends on RPM mostly. With my experience I would have to venture about half.
