Duck hunting in Mexico?

Postby daffydennis » Thu Dec 21, 2006 6:05 am

Can anyone clue me in on duck hunting in Mexico? I travel there often on business and would love to combine some hunting with work. Can you bring down your gun and ammo? Is there a limit?

Hi! I live in the city of Chicago and am always looking for great waterfowl and other hunting places especially within reasonable driving distance. I uually hunt as a single so as looking for groups I can join.

You have to have a gun permit to bring guns and ammo into Mexico and only 200 rounds of ammo are permitted. They take a dim view of ammo coming in without a gun permit. In order to hunt Mexico you have to be with an outfitter that has a UMA, or managed area. The days of free-lancing in Mexico are over. And yes, there are limits.
