Anyone with some hunt pics?

Postby AAR » Wed Aug 13, 2008 8:01 am

Anybody down in AU or NZ doing any hunting? Put up a few pics or something to help us northern hemisphere suckers through the next month or so :hammer:

One of my favorite destinations. Love the country and the people.

Paradise Shelducks

More NZ

More Paradise Shelducks

The NZ blacks are something special to me.

Swans and Paradise Ducks are a treat to me.

The neighboring Station(Ranch) foreman came over one evening and said he had a "Bit of a problem as the Bloody Swans were attacking his freshly planted rye grass in his paddocks(pastures) and asked us to do a bit of a clean-up on them." Being a group of Tennessee Volunteers, which is why Texas isn't Mexico by the way, we were happy to help him out.

Fresh meat! I'm not a rifle hunter, but can shoot one. He was running at 200 yards up a ridge and I shot him in the ear, much to my and his surprise, and he flopped and rolled all the way down the ridge almost to the truck.

Merriam's Turkeys have no closed season and not limit, but most outfitters will hold you to 3-5 a day.

and more!

I really think a blind man can kill turkeys over there. And a pair of Paradise Ducks as a bonus.

Image

Morning shoot out of a Mai-Mai(Blind) over water. Many of the Stations are like shooting over a golf course as they are so well manicured.

Image

Paradise Shelduck pair. One of the few waterfowl that I think the hen is prettier than the drake.

Good lord Waterfowler  Thanks for the post! Those are beautiful pics, I hope to be making my way over there or Australia soon. Hope that I have even half success of hunts as in some of those pictures and I'll be just fine :uhhaa:
