Well my boy won the championship yesterday. I was glad and my wife sat and cried because she was so scared something would happen to his car or someone would try to take him out of the race. She couldn't even sit and watch she was so nervous.
I heard Mark Martin say that Tony is the best driver of his era. Do you agree? If not, who would you say it is?

I couldn't vote in the poll, thats just to hard to decide, there all great drivers. Keep your eye on Carl Edwards, he's gonna have a great career. He had a spectacular season for it being his first full one in the "big show"

Congrats to all the Stewart fans on his second championship

:salude:
Is it september the 8th yet???

Had to vote for Stewart. He is not my driver, but I have to respect a guy that looked inside himself and started to fix all that was wrong. It paid off for him this year. Good for him.

I'd have to say Jeff, what with the 4 championships and all.

nope. anyone who can sit in that car for 4 to 5 hours at temps. over 130 degrees and use your mind and arms at 190 mph race people clean and not drive under thm and lift them to pass stay up on the wheel and not let off , win then get out and do a back flip instead of cry and whine like most gets the great driver vote....

My favorate thing about Jeff (Homoboy) Gordon is making fun of him. Yes, Jeff is a great driver, but Stewart has a championship in every series he has ever drove. That is why I would put him one step above Jeffo.
In all due respect HW.

I like Tony but last night I went to the opening of the Bass Pro Shop in Pearl met Kerry Earnhardt. I have to admit, he is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet.

I agree with you that yes, Tony did win the NASCAR Championship this year, but as to the question, I will quote, "in the modern era". So until Tony gets a few more championships under his belt, he cannot even be considered, but neither can most on the list. I will put him ahead of everyone else, but Gordon, on that list. Jr is a great driver, but he is like Peyton Manning, just cannot seem to get his hands on the big dance.

Jeff might have won 4 championships but he hasn't won in every class he has ever driven in like Tony has. As far as Jr., if he could just drive, he might have a chance but he has too much pressure on him to live up to the name to concentrate on driving.
