Have any of you used the poplar fungo bats? If so how do they hold up? Thank you, Jeff

Poplar is a pretty tough wood. I've used it to make striped bass lures in the past. The downside to it for that application is that it sucks up water and messes up the paint on the plug. If you plan on practicing in the rain a lot, I can see it getting waterlogged. Other wise, I'd say that a fungo is a pretty appropriate application for poplar. That said, I have never had an issue with any wood fungo as long as you aren't out there hitting pitches for some strange reason with them.
