Gotta get this off my chest

Postby IBBoykin » Tue Jan 02, 2007 1:44 pm

Ok, now that the Rose Bowl is over, we now have proof that Michigan truly did not deserve to be in the national championship game. Furthermore, this just goes to support what I said before, that under the current system, if you do not win your conference, then you do not deserve to be in the title game. For everyone that said Michigan was the #2 team in the country, please think again.
Now, I feel much better.

I'm with you 100% :toofunny:

That was a spanking I won't soon be forgetting. One of the few times I laughed through a football game.
I love my job, it fascinates me. I can sit and look at it for hours.

u would think that michigan would step up its game and show the states that they deserved to play the best. Again we see when it matters the most, michigan doesn't show up. i thought the game was going to be good going to half, but nope.

That is just it, if you are going to take claim to the #1 or #2 spot in the country, you have to be able to bring your "A" Game every single week.

Michigan is a very good team and I believe that if you match up the top 10-15 teams in the nation on anygiven day you may get different results. When you are dealing with 17 to 23 year olds who knows what you will get.

I was the Chaplain for a Division I football team for 4 years. We were in a non-BCS conference and we moved to another non-BCS conference that goes to more bowl games. My problem is that each year everyone realizes that it is impossible to be national champions, no matter how they play, who they play etc. It is determined before the season began who can be a national champion and who can't by the conference they are part of.

With that being said I am not completely against the BCS. I believe that the system has many strengths and I understand why some conferences were BCS and why new ones aren't. However, when you look at recruting being in a BCS eligible conference is much more attractive to the top athlete which leaves the non-BCS conference recruiting not as high caliber player. This creates a system that is definately bi-modal in nature. Some conferences are powerhouses while others are weak year after year. I realize that there are many factors in recruiting, but by having some conferences BCS eligible and others not we have created inequity and the playing field is not level.

Go Blue!!!!! Great team, they just lost something during that game, kind of like the Colts, go undefeated and blow it in the play offs.

Big 10 all the way! All I can say is, you can't win them all, otherwise Wisconsin would be 13 and 0, and the number 1 team in the country!!!

And you saw how awesome they played Monday!

Only allowing two teams from the Big 10 in the BCS is crap. I guess we know who the second choice should have been?.......

GO BADGERS!

Actually I'd rather be ice fishing, but unfortunately there's none of that going on. Where's the ice?

We'll Everbody seem's to forget that the SEC is in the BCS game. record as of now Sec 5 wins and 2 losses. with 2 more games to play. (9 teams)
Big 10 2 wins and 4 losses with one to play. (7 teams) I'm pulling for OHIO ST. Even though I like the SEC. Just can't stand FLA.

I love it when Spartan fans chime in!!! What did your team get to this year? The closest they got was the toilet bowl! Michigan laid an egg that is for sure. I could come up with a million excuses but plain and simple they got whipped.

USC does , that win should make them #1 in the polls next year.
