Fantasy Football

Postby Swamp Puppy » Sat Jun 25, 2005 5:48 pm

I know it is still a bit early to be thinking football. (for some of us it never stops..he he.) anyway, just curious as to how many people here would be interested in joining a free fantasy football league for DHC members? it's free and easy and doesn't take much time.

speak up..the more the merrier. we can take up to 10 fantasy teams per league.

I'm in. Love a good game fantasy football. Let me know. It is never to early to start setting ground rules. Live draft? I have always had a hard time doing this in the past because i was always on a roof top somewhere. This year i think i can talk the boss into an afternoon off.

we can try to do a live draft. i've found it difficult in the past to set up live drafts as someone usually has a schedule conflict. (and it's usually me... )

anyway, i use Yahoo's fantasy leagues. i'll have to check and see what their rules are this year. they usually change something every season.

hey SP, count me in.

can i play devil's advocate for a second though? do we have to use yahoo? i really don't like any of there fantasy game setups. i know of a couple of others that are much better, IMO. i'll still play if yahoo is the way y'all decide to go, i am just not crazy about their games.

btw, i live draft is crucial y'all! it makes it much more interesting!!!!! i can make myself available just about anytime with enough advance notice....

I to can make myself available for a live draft. However for so many years in the past i was not able to. So I absolutely understand if someone can not be available for a live draft.

we can certainly shoot for a live draft, we'll have to cross that bridge when we get to it. what other games ya got shrp?? i've only played the yahoo games as all the others i've seen were either Pay to join or join for free, but have to Pay to get access to stats for players. i am certainly open to any other free games you may know of.

i just wanted to revive this cause time is running out. it's gonna take a bit to coordinate everything so we need to get an accurate head-count and decide which fantasy game everyone wants to play and the format, etc.

i personally like espn's pay league...what do y'all think?

It doesn't matter to me! Somepeople might not want to pay. What ever you guys want to do. I have only played in a league with a salary cap befor. I like the cap it makes it fun when your winning.

ok guys...time to take a final head count and figure out what we're doing.

truthfully, i prefer not to pay for stuff like this..but i guess i'd throw in if that's what we want to do.

i'm thinking of shooting for a start up date of august 8th..one week from today. then allow a day or two for everyone to log in and register their teams.

opinions?

If anyone's interested:

I have a yahoo league ($25) that I do every year. Usually it is family friends and relatives. A number of those said they can't do it this year (or just don't want to). Right now we only have 6 maybe 8 teams and I'd like 12 to 14. PM me if your interested and I'll give you details--just figured I'd ask.

Thanks
