I have nothing against the Jets, and Im not a big Packers fan, but I hate this. I love Brett Favre, he is one of my favorite players. And the thing is that Favre is a Packer and should be a Packer. I hate the way this whole thing turned out. I wish the Packers would have not pressured Brett into retirement, I feel like that caused all this. Now #4's legacy is a bit tarnished and he will be playing for a team he doesnt even care about. I hope he has a good year this year and helps to improve the Jets from last years 4-9 season. Bottom Line: Brett Favre should be retired or should be on the field in Yellow and Green.

I highly doubt this is gonna tarnish Favre's legacy. That is stupid. Is Joe Montana's legacy tarnished? Is Jerry Rice's legacy tarnished? People will always remember him as a Packer.

I don't think Brett is gonna report to your camp. Call me crazy but I have a feeling he is gonna think highly of New York. Remember Brett has to sign off on any trades and he hasn't done that as of now. I think he wants revenge for the way the Packers organization treated him. Being in the AFC he doesn't play the Packers unless they meet in the Superbowl. That aint gonna happen. The jets have go through the Patriots and the Colts. They probably aren't even going to go to the playoffs. Plus he has the curse and was on the cover of Madden and I think most know what that means. We'll see I am extremely bias and will probably end up eating my words but he is going to the Vikes.

Yeah it's official he said he would report to camp. Well at least he didn't go to the Bucs. This way the Vikes don't have to play him. But you know he's gonna wanna play for the Vikes next year after they win the superbowl.

Actually his legacy is a bit tarnished. When he retired people went crazy with love for Favre, SI had him on the cover a couple times, he was on the award shows. Now that was all for nothing, when he retires next time it wont be the same, retireing then coming back always tarnishes a legacy, to what extent remains to be seen.

i dont think retiring tarnishes your rep. montana is still thought as one of the greatest QB'S, rice is the greatest WR, have you ever heard of Michael Jordan??? he only retired three times from basketball and once from baseball, i bet arena's would be packed to see MJ with the bulls again

You know you guys might be right, right now its not a good situation but after he retires and time goes by it might get better. I did not want Jordan to come back and for a while he was not looked at as the real player he was but its getting better. I still think that when you go out on top and you go out the right way it only helps your legacy.

I figeure that 4 or 5 games into the season Favre is going to be thinking he should have taken the $20 million and got himself a cushy gig in the booth.

after watching all of the people in new york goes crazy over favre, i am really doubting that his legacy is tarnished. it seems that everyone has forgot about that other team in new york, but as good as favre can be and may be this season the jets dont have that much talent anywhere else, but i wish him all the luck favre is one hell of a football player

I think if the Packers management had let him come back and compete for the job, he would've stayed. They offered him the $20m, which comes out the remaining portion of this contract, to stay at home, this wouldn't have happened.
That coach thinks the backup going to be the future of the team but I have a feeling they are going to fall to the bottom of the division and the Packer faithful are going to run him out of the state.
There's a reason it's called huntin' and fishin' instead of killin' and catchin'

I agree the packers are gonna falter with Rodgers but I can't see them falling below the Lions and Bears. Go Vikes

the NFC north is wide open now, i think the packers will still find a way to win it, but the vikes are not far behind, all because of A.D.!!!!

As a packer fan i am still shocked. I wonder what really was said during the meetings behind the scenes  . Rodgers over Farve what a joke. If that coach wants a job next year he better hope rodgers is the real deal like he thinks he is. The lions might have a chance this year until they meet the vikes. To bad farve didn't go to the vikes and give it to the pack like they deserve. Oh well. Good luck farve.

didnt watch much of the game last night but rodgers looked pretty good in the few series i seen him in, he would look a lot better if his receivers would not tip the ball into the other teams hands!

He didn't look to bad but then again that rookie didn't look all to bad neither. Time will tell when the season starts. I noticed most of the fans seem to give a good cheer for Rodgers when he came out. Thats good. There still was some Farve shirts and hats in the crowd though.

i was surprised rodgers did not seem to be very nervous without the #4 in front of him, but brian brohm does have some talent i think he will make rodgers work to stay on top of his game, the favre signs and hats will there for a while, it took about 3 or 4 years for all of the montana stuff to get out of kansas city
