I'm a Sharks fan as well. I'm lovin watchin them this year. I've been dying to get to a game but I'm a poor college student and those seats are expensive.

Have you been to a game yet this year?

I'm not much of an NHL fan, but will watch it on occasion. More of a college hockey follower. Go Eagles!!!

We don't have much college hockey out here on the west coast. I had an offer to play some Div. 1 roller hockey but a neck injury didn't allow for it at the time.

Maybe. The last couple years we've heard that from the analyst, but they keep choking.

But, in all honesty thats part of building up to a championship team. We went through some real heart break too losing in the 95 cup finals to N.J. and a few conference finals before finally breaking the 42 year curse. Since then we've definitely enjoyed allot of succsess in hockey town. I like our chances again this year as long as we can stay healthy. My only concern right now is GAA. Its just pitiful. How could you go from the best in the league to one of the worst? Fortunately we have a veteran club and im confident theyll tighten the screws to get things back to where they should be. Plus, as long as they get the "W" at the end of the night thats all that matters.

I think its gonna be a fight to the finish.

GO WINGS!!!

We pulled it off tonight were one more step closer to the cup. intresting game tonight plenty of fights. One were six guys were fighting at once. And i hope our lead defense men and scorer (blake) doesnt get suspended that would not help us get closer at all. dam ducks nothing ever good comes out of playing them. that team is full of a bunch of punks.

I didnt catch the game, but i see they beat the ducks last night. Would have liked to see that 6 man Donnie Brook though....Might have to do a search. Not as much of the rough stuff in the game now a days...Damn refs always jump in too soon.  ...Its a part of the game, let it go!!!

I wouldnt worry about a suspension as the Cup isnt won in the regular season anyhow. Theres still allot of hockey left to play. What i would worry about is your overall team health. Without it your team will not likely go far. Two years ago when we lost to Anahiem in the conference finals our team was riddled with injuries, ecspecially to our defensive core. A hit like that sure makes it tough to compete in May and June. That said, we still competed at a high level and were in every game. But, we were ultimately defeated by the Ducks who went on to win the Cup. With our A-team, i think we woulda beat the Ducks and went on to win another Cup.

But, at the same time those injuries allowed some of our younger players to jump in and show what they bring to the table. Players like Kronwall, Lilia, Filpula etc...They played very well in that series and basically earned their spot on the roster for the following year. Since then they've been impact players for our club. Infact, they were insturmental in our Cup run last sesason.

San Jose's a good team no doubt and Nabby's on his game. It might be their year, but i never count our guys out. They always find a way to win. It'll be allot of fun to see how it all hatches out.

Good luck.

Well, after terrible game against the Avs the other night i was happy to see the Wings play a strong game against the Sharks. They had a strong performance all the way through. Solid defense tonight holding the high powered sharks to 24 shots and only 12 quality scoring chances. And when we had our chances in the offensive zone our guys came through. Datsyuk had a 4 pt night!!!...Finally a 60 minute game from our crew and an impressive 6-0 victory!!!

GO WINGS!!!

Howd hunting go? Our season is over here, so ive been deer hunting until i can get out ice fishing on Saginaw Bay for walleye. But, the weather has just been aweful. Bitter cold and high winds has the deer hunkered down. Looks like another nasty storm coming in tonight. Theyre forcasting up to 12" of snow. So, after the storm quits ill probably get back out after the deer. Hopefully i can bag another doe before Sunday when our Muzzleloader season ends.

Ya you guys smoked us big time. We looked good there for the first period then the luck ran out. We may have the better record but i will admit the wings are a much better team. They are well developed, have been a strong and competiive team for a while. I dont no what happened but we lost to columbus and then detroit. Now we won again, we need to start palying as a team, set up a stratagey instead of just slapping the puck around and hoping it will some how make its way into the net. That wont get us anyhere in the playoffs but once we get a good strategy down i think will be on fire. GO SHARKS!!

The biggest mistake the NHL Players made was going on strike. Granted, I'm from texas and Hockey is not a big thing here, but I used to at least keep up with the Dallas Stars.

To be honest, when the NHL went on strike, I didn't miss them at all. Now its kind of funny b/c Fox used to carry NHL games, now you're lucky if you can catch it on Versus.

I've never been to a college hockey game, but I'm sure its a lot of fun. When I was younger, we used to go to Shreveport, LA and watch some semi-pro team called the Mud Bugs and that was pretty awesome.

Red Head,
The Sharks are a very good team. Theyre just like any other team in the NHL going through their highs and lows. Sometimes ya get sidetracked. Theyll be fine, theyre a good veteran club.

Allot like your team as of late, our team is good one game, bad the next. And although theyre getting the wins, they need to tighten things up. Seems were in a bad habit of getting the lead and setting back letting teams get back into it. Then once we're down or even we kick it in overdrive to get back on top. Did this the other night against an inexperienced LA team. Instead of playing soundly and beating a team that they should, they played sloppy defense and let LA hang around and make a game of it. Finally in the last half of the third they tightened up and put some pressure on. Finally in the last 5 minutes of the third they got the go ahead goal and added an empty netter to finish em off. Up till then it was a toss up on who would win. Its fun to watch when your team plays the way they should!!!

Groundswatter,
Sorry to hear that. Hockeys a great sport. You should get back into it and support your team although the Dallas Stars are having an aweful season. Theyre riddled with injuries, the Avery debacle and sub par goal tending from Turco have all contributed. Looks like theyre starting to get some personel back, so hopefully they can get the ship righted and play hockey like the team that went to the Wester Conference Finals last season.

As far as Fox not carrying hockey, i wonder if its just in your area because Fox carries allot of hockey here in Michigan whether its college or pro. I watch nearly every Red Wings game on FSN Detroit. The rest on Versus or the local channels on the weekends during the playoffs.

Hockey is a great sport, so is soccer, baseball, football, basketball, pick your poison. The MLB lost my support when they went on strike so many years ago, now the NHL has lost it. Although NHL athletes aren't near as overpaid as the MLB athletes, I still find adults that play a game for a living and still whine about their pay grade a bit demeaning. So now I just watch more college basketball.

As for fox, I'm referring to the Over the air Fox that shows the Pro Football games. FSN carries almost anything, but I remember that Hockey used to be shown on Fox.

Now the first couple of games of the Stanley cup are on Versus, then NBC.

Again, nothing against the game of Hockey. I think hockey and many other sports are great, but it doesn't always mean I support their pro leagues.

I understand where your coming from and what your saying definitely has merrit....But, despite that, i still enjoy watching the games. Theyre exciting and its fun to see the sports top players play at the highest level possible....To each his own and thats cool.
