" Hallelujah, holy, holy. God Almighty, the great I Am. Who is worthy, none beside Thee God Almighty, the great I Am.”

Amos 4:7-13

7 And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.

8 So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.

9 I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured them: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.

10 I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.

11 I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.

12 Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.

13 For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.

How many times did the Israelites have to be told? How many times do we need to be told? Told what you ask? Told that God is the great I am. We have been told to retain God’s words, keep His commandments and to live for Him. Why are we so stupid and prideful, arrogant and selfish when it comes to loving our God?

The Israelites never seemed satisfied. God provide rain, held the rain for the harvest, increase in their vineyards and fig trees and they still did not return to the LORD, so He sent the palmerworms. God even overthrown people that were full of sin, and yet the Israelites still did not look to the LORD. Are we satisfied today?

This certainly applied to my life. I believed when I wanted, I ignored the Word when it was not convenient for what I wanted to do. I did not listen to the words that were preached to me or given to me by my fellow brothers. I thought I was ok, but God was to about show me His lessons of love in my life. I was just like the Israelites....

We all need to prepare to meet God. We will all stand before Him. Verse 13 was a warning to the Israelites and to each one of us today. God will not be visiting Israel with salvation, but rather with inevitable and complete judgment. He will be doing the same to those that do not choose Him. The LORD, the God of host is His name. The Great I am.

“ The mountains shake before You. The demons run and flee at the mention of the name King of majesty. There is no power in hell or any who can stand before the power and the presence of the great I Am! The great I am, the great I Am!”
