I was wondering how many if any of you guys shoot long bows or recurves. I started out shooting an old bear grizz that i picked up at a pawn shop. Switched over to a compound around 82 then went back to a recurve around 1990. Im now shootin a Black Widow recurve.

I shoot all-wood longbows mostly with the occasional recurve. started out with a compound in my teen years and then hung up the training wheels and haven't touched the compound since.

I started out with a Colt recurve. Went over to the dark side for a few years. Came back in 1990 and have not looked back. I have a Fedora longbow, 2 Fedora recurves and a Stewart longbow.

I actually started with a bear recurve back in the early 80's, I now use a martin recurve in some hunts or bow fishing, other times in tight areas like some deer stands I use my PSE compound.

I like the traditional bows too. I use the type developed around 420 BC called a crossbow. recurve style only, no compound for this traditionalist. :umm:

Old thread but since bow season opens on 9/27 I'll be hunting with my Martin Hunter recurve.
