I won't have anything until September 27th at the earliest, probably the 28th. Season starts the 27th, but I think I'm going to have to work.

Shoot'em close. Less to pick.

They might get my guns, but they'll get the bullets first !

Here is my first blacktail. I was pig hunting in CA. and had my deer tag just in case. The Pigs never showed. I was able to shoot this one at 9 yards.Image

I am still hoping to get after the pigs later when time allows.

ducklanyards,
I was raised on blacktail deer. I'm a transplant from northern ca. It made me short and round, so I think you should give me the meat. I wouldn't want you to end up like me.

Just kidding! That is a nice buck. I hope your pig hunt works out.

Congrats Matt. I didn't get out this weekend, my buddy couldn't go and I couldn't afford gas to the lease by myself. I'll be hitting up my grandparents place in Crossville this weekend though.

Does taste better anyways. I too am trying to get a tender doe before the rut hits.

I made my first Kill with a bow Saturday Evening. It was Doe, but I can just smell that back strap in the frying pan.

Never been so excited about a doe in my life. Clean kill, got her in the heart and lungs.

Nope he was shot with the 100gr. grim reapers. I have killed three deer with them so far with great results. Deer 1 75yds. after shot, deer 2 35yds. after, deer 3 20 yds. after shot. I like them so far all pass throughs.

That's what I'm using this year. I forget which bowhunting magazine did testing on mechs, but the GR's were the deepest penetrating. The author took 2 wild boar with one shot. Passed through the first and into the second. Talk about a broadhead. Are you using the regular ones, or the Extra Cuts?
