Better have lots of money, that ammo is not cheap, let alone those top of the line 50 cal's.

Saw a show on Guns & Ammo...................

Better invest on some eye goggles also !!

Have you checked out the 338 Lapua ?

You're right on the not cheap part. Ammo is about 8 bucks a pop if you can find it. Better invest in a reloader if you plan on shooting much.

Ok Carlos lets slow it down a little and think about a couple things. Do you really have a place to shoot that would take advantage of the range of the .50 BMG cartridge? If your answer is no then you need to re-think your desires for long range shooting equipment.

I would suggest going with a round/rifle such as a 7mag/300mag/ultra mag or even a 30-06. Hell they use .308 for 1K shots. The reason being that you can get ammo and a rifle way cheaper enabling more trigger time. A 50 cal rig is going to run a minimum of about 5k dollars. You can get a awesome smaller cal rifle for less than half of that.

My 30-06 is capable of 1000 yards all day with some upgrades to the barrel and good ammo. But if you simply must have one Barrett or mcmillan

that is proballly the best adivce you could get right there. i love the .308 and you can go to 1000 with it and shoot alot more. practice makes perfect. want some thing a little different look at the 6.5 cals ie 6.5x47 laupa, 260 rem, 264 win mag. 6.5 creedmore all great lr rounds to. can get a little hard on bbls. that why i like the .30 cals can usally get lots of rounds down one tube.

Holy cow! It says it has a 5000 yard range? I'd hate to be the one to walk to check the target... Or the one in the pit for that matter.
