Help me date my Browning!!!

Postby hud521 » Mon May 16, 2011 5:58 pm

I am looking for help dateing my Browning Safri grade 308. I have looked on the Browning web site and could not figure out what to look uder. The rifle is in beautiful condition and is not a salt gun, as far as I know because there is no visible corrosion on any parts of the gun. It is made in Finland and the serial number is 291z4. If anybody out there can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. I am also trying to fine a value for it.

THANKS!!!

Best I could tell you is to google something like "Info on Browning X from serial numbers" with X being your model of firearm.

Thanks, after I posted my question I found what I think is my answer. The "Z" in the serial number designates it as a 1969 Safri grade Sako action. Thanks for your reply!
