Savage m110 30-06 ammo?

Postby creationchris » Wed Jun 01, 2011 8:59 pm

Just curious if anyone out here has this particular rifle and if so, what ammo it likes. I know all guns shoot all ammo different but thought I might be able to narrow it down a bit before aI head out to the range to dial it in. Most likely will be shooting a 165gr. It will be used for mule deer hunting out west where a 200+yd shot is common.

Can't speak for that particular model, but in general I find the Hornady factory ammo is very accurate in all of my rifles.

any size bullet will work to ony 200yards even the 220gr round nose.

The new low recoil loads were made for 200 yard shots for the youngsters or little ladys ,in the family.

the 165gr is a good all around load......................but the 150gr will drop any deer out to 400 yards if
placed in the vitals.

as for the best bullet..........every rifle has its own weight and brand name of bullet that it likes better than others.
You can a 150 rem, win, norma, etc and find different impant areas and size groups with each one. Some are lucky and get the "Magic Bullet" the 1st one or two tries.
With all the new styles and loads out there today, good luck !!
