But thats just not the regular LTR. Unless they changed them recently the base model ltr did not come with a fluted barrel.

AFAIK, the current LTRs are all fluted. This one is new, but I believe you are correct for the older ones.

The standard 700P and PSS models are still not fluted, though.

At any rate, it looks like a shooting rig to say the least.

Thanks..I can't wait to get it, although I haven't decided what optics and rings to put on it.

I would like to do Badger rings/bases, and an IOR or Nightforce, about 5.5-22x50...but what I want, I sure can't afford! At least, if I want to shoot it some time in the next year...

I check out Sniper Country and a few others almost daily (if it's slow at work). They do have some good deals, but I still can't come close to affording what I want. I'll probably end up getting mid-priced scope and rings when I can save up enough.

I hear you on missing your PSS, I really like those as well. It was a tough choice bewteen that and the LTR.

bgoldhunter, I know its not a tacticle model but I have a Nikon Monarch 6.5-20 on my next entry into the game and I can't say enough about it. The only thing it lacks is gobs of elevation adjustment if your going to 1000 yds and back.

P.S. If ya get the rings and bases right your gonna get extra points.

Well, thats all the fun I have to offer, I don't have any more pics of the rifles I own. Good eyes on the sig rings. They are my favorite rings.

I had unfair advantage. I've used them on a couple of 10-22s to get more adjustment out of them. We were trying to hit soda cans at 300+ yards and nobody makes sloped bases for them that I know. So the rings saved the day. As well as no scope bind due to misallignment.

Quackhunter:

I haven't read this thread in a while...nice stick!

I've been looking at a VS or PSS..pretty much the same thing, but am thinking of saving my pennies for a used GAP.
