I will be able to report more of my experiences with an XDs in the coming weeks. A good friend of mine recently got an XDs and together we have been making frequent trips to the range. Its a very nice gun and is great for what it was intended for: concealed carry. Now in comparison to say, my XDm 4.5" barrel it is noticeably more accurate. However I find the XDs very easy to control for recoil. Not sure that I'm a fan of the red optic front sight though....Personally, I think I would go with a compact model in 3.8" barrel. If the XDs is in you future, I would recommend picking up at least 1 of the extended grip 7 round mags. They make a nice addition especially if you enjoy that full grip.

There are some good videos on Youtube reviewing this gun.

Let us know what you think, I am in the market at the moment. Im in between a few guns at the moment, xds being one. The extended grip would be a must for me.

I have the xdsc in 9mm...Love the gun. I do prefer the longer mag but havent really noticed a change when shooting either one.

Try making one yourself. Its really easy and at a fraction of the cost of a new one in stores or online.

how would you start making one? Have made knife sheaths but holsters seem harder.

Got my wife a xdsc 9mm a few weeks ago. It is a sweet shooting gun. She shoots pretty good with it too.

check desantis out, pj holster, I have heard good things about bear creek as well. If you haven't looked yet go to the xdtalk forums, lots of good info there, and they have a xds forum with loads of info about holsters, grips, sights all the info you will want. I have learned a lot about the gun from there. Think I am going to get a desantis for my IWB holster.

Not really. The gun fits securely in the holster yet slides right out when you need it. Definitely an unconventional design for the holster, but having everything in once location makes it nice. Especially since the XDs is so small you can really get away with this design. The holster fits nice and comfortably IWB, you almost forget you've got it on.

You did a great job with that. I looks nice. My brother did this to his glock a few weeks ago. He used silver. I think I like the white on yours better.

Nice job. I originally did red on my old SC-40 but removed it and did white. When I traded it the guy at the shop was amazed how good it looked so I explained how to do it. I may do gold on my XDM 4.5" .45

Yeah I have seen gold done by a few guys and it looks good. The two other colors that I really liked were red and green. I did blaze orange for a buddy the other day on his bi-tone smith sigma and pink on my wife's, it turned out ok, the sigmas just don't have real deep engraving. I really struggled with the top springfield logo on the xds. I think I am going to have to paint that in order to get the color the way I want it.
