Handgun Hunting

Any one out there like to hunt with handguns. I use a Stainless Ruger
Super Blackhawk for most of my hunting.

I've hunted deer and exotics with my S&W M29 in .44 magnum and my Colt Trooper Mk III in .357 magnum. My favorite type of handgun hunting, though, is with my Ruger Mk II in .22LR for squirrels and rabbits!

I would also like to add 22 to my collection. the rugers are excellent
shooters. I hope to get a hog and a coyote with the 44 this winter.

I bought a .38 Super a few years ago; I'd like to take a coyote and javelina with that gun (Springfield Armory 1911).

I'm gonna do my darnedest to take a respectable hog with a .45 ACP in Texas in a couple of weeks. Now, don't get me wrong, the .45 ACP is NOT my hunting handgun caliber of choice. It's more or less a nuisance hunt and the .45 is not the primary weapon....just want to take a head of game with one for once. For handgun hunting, I'd be perfectly content with a .22 and a .44 Mag/.45 LC/.454 Casull, etc. I think that the newer .500s, .460s, etc. would be cool in a lever action rifle....but it ain't a 'handgun' anymore to me when it's as heavy as some of my rifles.

I hear you , part of the reason I handgun hunt is for the challenge.
An accurate 44 revolver will kill anything walking if you do your part.
I to have used a 1911 hunting with good results nothing made will
fit your hand as well as a Gov. Model 1911 45 But I still prefer my 44.
In past years i have used TC contendors but that trigger spur was
brutal on my knuckles with the 2 hand grip I use. They were more
accurate than some of my bolt rifles, but just didnt feel as good as
the auto or revolver.
