I'm looking into buying an XD 40 sub compact for concealed carry. Does anyone have opinions on this weapon??

its had good reviews in all the mags. i had a hard time choosing between that, the taurus 24/7, and the ruger p345. i ended up going with the ruger because it felt best to me, but i wouldnt mind having the xd also for something a little smaller

Very nice gun, and I have temped myself with one several times. I'm gonna have to get one after I get a few more 1911s...but make mine a XD45 compact.

I have a Taurus PT 145. I'm alright with it in practice But I'm not accurate enough with it to be comfortable carrying it around. I'm looking for something with about the same knock down power but with a bit less recoil. That's why I'm looking at the 40. I also had an XD service model but sold it a few months ago (it's size was just too big for carry) and that's why I'm thinking of sticking with the XD brand.

The springfield XD is a very good choice. I have never owned one but I have a few friends that have them and love em. Personally I just took posession of an H&K USP compact in .45 I think Im in love.

As a quick follow up I was just up at the police equipment store and looked @ an XD compact in .45 ACP. Now I need to figure out how to smuggle that in the house in a couple of months.

I'm torn between that and a Sig 1911.....decisions, decisions....but I have fired both, and I still can't decide....either is a Top Notch defensive sidearm, period.
Here's a thought: Let the ducks work and decoy.
