Marlin 336C .35

Postby RightWing » Fri Jan 25, 2008 8:20 pm

Have an itch to add a lever to my collection.....multiple shotguns, muzzy, and .270 and .243 bolts.....like the idea of an open-sighted lever.......I'm leaning away from the .308 Marlin......more ammo to chose from with the .35.......how is the recoil on the .35?.....any thoughts appreciated.

I bought one last spring....recoil is on par with a .30/30 or so, IMO. My Granddad had one, and it was the first centerfire rifle I ever shot. I kinda wanted that gun, but he 'traded up' and used it to get himself a Remington pump 30-06 a couple years before he passed. Finally found a used one in the gun shop this past spring. Great little 'woods rifle'.

Funny, but I remember it kicking a lot more back when I was a 14 year old kid!
