leupold scope omega muzzleloader...will it be okay

Postby firstblood » Wed Apr 09, 2008 9:10 pm

i currently have a half year old leupold VX-III on my deer rifle but i plan on getting an omega 50 cal muzzle loader and i was wondering if my scope would be okay on this gun or if the recoil would be to great and cause damage or cause the zero to change.
i don't think it will because of the quality of leupold products but just want to make sure

No way you hurt the Vari X III. They drop test em and recoil test them to .416 rigby something like 5,000 shots. I wouldnt even worry about the recoil hurting it. I have a 2-7 compact on a Marlin 45-70 and when I load it up hot it really gives you a wack and as of now I have about 700 shells through it with that scope and no problems at all.
