Springfield XD40

Postby greencop43 » Thu May 14, 2009 6:17 am

I just bought a Springield XD40 sub-compact  , had to replace the Kel-Tec P-11 that feel apart in my hands at the range    . Here is my question. Does anyone know if Springfield or any aftermarket places make a small Mag extender for the 9 round mags. I saw the bigger extenders on the Springfield website but don't want anything that big. I don't want to put more rounds in the mag just increase its length a bit to get a better grip. Thanks for any help.

as far a i know springfield only makes the extender that makes it the same size as the full sized gun.
one of the common over molded grips from houge might work but i doubt that is what you are looking for either.

sounds like a custom or do it your self job to me

You might try taking your mag into a firearms shop and trying the ones made for Glock and the M&P. They might not work, but it's worth a shot.

Let me know how you like it. I am getting ready to order 5 of them myself when I get a chance.
Glad to assist....

They work pretty well on the standard mags and add 1/2" of length. You can even trim off some of the lip to shorten it a bit if it prints when carrying concealed. The factory x-tended mags, while adding capacity do add 3/4" to the length which can make them a kittle harder to hide.
