chroming barrels

Postby spoonerlab » Thu May 14, 2009 7:15 pm

I heard that if i get the barrel of my old shotgun chromed I can shoot steel out of it, is this true? If it is about how much would it cost me?

It'll be easier to clean, and less prone to wear, but that's about it.
Here's a thought: Let the ducks work and decoy.

If the barrel is not rated for steel, I don't think having it chromed would help. Do they not make a replacement barrel, rated for steel, for your gun?

i dont know anything about tinsel strength but its modified and they discontinued the model in the 60s so no new barrels i guess i might just have to buy a new 870
