T3 over t2 - newer technology and higher iso capability for less grain in low light shots
THer Nikon is very close to the T3. Pick them up and chose the one that feels the best in your hand

I am a Canon shooter that has own from a 30D to 1D Mark IV's and glass from 16/f2.8 to 800/5.6

good luck and have fun

I agree with SteveVio, you have to hold the camera to feel which one fits your hand the best. I have the Canon T3 and I love it. I am just starting out as a photographer though so that's just my two cents :)

Good luck

The Canon will give you a better selection of lenses once you have decided that the kit lenses wont give you the results you want.
Once you get your camera, learn the settings and what they do. If you put your camera on "auto" and leave it there, you won't always get the best results
