Jerry "Mad Dog" Shriver

42 years ago this week our country lost a very courageous soldier. Jerry "Mad Dog" Shriver was a legend of the US Special Forces in Vietnam, running cross border recon into Laos and Cambodia into the heart of enemy territory time after time. After three years of operating behind enemy lines and narrowly escaping with his life too many times to count his luck ran out.
I had the honor of meeting Jerry and the pleasure of sharing a few beers with him at our Special Forces club in Pleiku late in 1968 one day while he was in transit to God knows where. R.I.P. Mad Dog.
Please take a few minutes to read about a true blue unsung American hero.
