PCSing and Gun Safe question

Postby CrowToes » Sat Dec 10, 2011 4:12 pm

I want to buy a 24 Gun Safe empty weight of 550lbs. I have heard Government moving companies will not move them because they are too heavy. Have any of you had any problems with this? I don't want to get stuck having to move it myself every few years. Thanks for your help.

Talk directly with the moving company. PCS move's are contracted to individual moving companies. I you are moving into the 3rd floor of a triple decker with no elevator then prbably not. They have moved alot bigger and bulkier.

good luck.

I moved from OKC to Utah, and they moved my 900 lb 48 gun safe with no issues. I'm retiring and moving back to Ok and they are gonna carry her back down for me.

Don't take no for an answer. It's not on the list of prohibited items, it's within your weight limit, they have to ship it.

Shipped mine from Ak to Az no problem, just let TMO know what all you have heavy and needs special attention so they bring the right moving equipment.
