Atta boy Guard!

Postby 100%camo » Tue Jul 01, 2008 7:50 am

Just wanted to let everyone know what a super hero job the ILNG did the past 3 weeks on flood fighting duty on the Mississippi River. 18 on, 6 off of filling and humping sandbags, foot patrols 24/7 and zone security. 3 weeks of wet feet, thunderstorms, heat, snakes, skeeters and sand in everything. 100+ miles of levees, and only one 9 mile unit was lost!

I could not be prouder of them all and especially 126, 233 and 240. This Buds for you!

I'm not from Illinois but several of the guys that work for me are from Illinois. Thanks for everything you did. I know it was a lot of hard work! But, why else would we do it?!
And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
"I served in the United States Navy"
