Daughter's first bird

Postby Super Dave 32 » Wed May 04, 2011 9:02 am

My 17 year old daughter suddenly has an interest in turkey hunting -- she has never expressed any interest at all previously. I took her on the youth opener, got a group of 7 jakes to 20 yards but she was a little nervous (actually alot nervous!) and missed. I took her out again last week to a place where I knew where a big gobbler had been roosting. We set up on the road that old Tom walks to get to the roost.

We called, he came with his harem and she bagged him. Now I'm glad she missed on the jake earlier. She was jumping up and down and screaming, "I got my turkey! I got my turkey!". Papa was pretty excited!
