Finally!!

Postby Coleman24 » Sun Apr 29, 2012 8:20 am

For a few years I have been going out for turkey, I was no die hard turkey hunter but I loved being out in the woods in the spring, why not chase some thunder chicken.. Well after yesterday mornings hunt and actually getting to experience what it is all about, I'm hooked. It was an awesome experience and finally got to bag my first long beard..

9.5in beard and a bit over 1 inch spurs.

Atta boy Coleman, Let's have some details of the hunt!
All turkeys must die!

Just lots of wildlife... Also never heard the spitting and drumming turkeys do, and hearing that get closer and closer had my heart pumping. Walkin up and finally getting a turkey was quiet the feeling, it was like weight off my shoulders... I have hunted them for a few years so it was a relief, and tons of fun.

Plus it's right next to my wood duck hole, so hearing them all morning was good also!!

Congrats on your bird. I still get that same rush everytime I shoot one just like I did the first one some 40 years ago. I tell people it's something you have to experience yourself as hearing about isn't near like picking one up off the ground. Being hooked is an understatement. Hope there are many more.

Say good bye to spring fishing :lol3: Between duck and turkey hunting it is a toss up on which is the most fun....luckily I don't have to choose and just do a ton of both :grooving:
