11th Hour Bird ... !

Postby Pouledeau » Tue May 08, 2012 9:17 am

Spent the whole season showing some new-comers the ropes, worked a bunch of birds ... had a damn good time. My girlfriend shot a great bird, triple bearded and HUGE, opening weekend. And one of my duck hunting buddies did his job after I put one in his lap at a hair under 20 yards with a 12" beard.

And mine finally CAME in the 11th hour of closing weekend in Love County, Oklahoma. Never ... sounded off ... ONCE ... ! But, unfortunately for him, he came in fluffed up like mad with 2 hens and a jake that just had to investigate the racket I was making.

12 yards and done ... ! What a season ... !

Next year ... including my usual haunts, I'm chasing Merriam's in Montana and Wyoming.
