Most any brand of slate, glass whatever with a few different strikers for variety will work fine.I have HS double slate and their tipple glass. For turkey calls in general Quaker boy is another great brand. For box calls I'd also look at the original Lynch box along with HS and QB.The only other brand I have tried was Primos but i prefer the others.

Any call will kill a turkey just as good as another! It's about finding one that works well with you. One person might be able to sound great on a call and another person not so much even with the same call. Buy a couple a try them out. It's all about how you use it, not how it sounds. Turkeys don't judge hens on how pretty there voice sounds, you just gotta tell em what they want to hear!

I would urge you to take a strong look at a LCC (Lodge Creek Calls) Purpleheart Double Trouble Pot call. We run glass on the top side with slate on the bottom. The glass surface will allow you to get some volume and really cut hard...that's what I love about it. The slate side will allow you do get tree yelps and clucks and purrs.

Check them out at www.lodgecreekcalls.com or feel free to contact me
