Turkey choke for my Xtrema II

Postby hollowcd » Sun Mar 02, 2008 9:34 pm

Can anyone recommend a great turkey choke for a Xtrema II. I just purchased my X2 and I want to get geared up for turkey season. Chokes are not really something that I know much about. Anybody use the kicks gobblin thunder chokes? Also, how do I know which restriction I should be using? I looks like the kicks comes in .680 and .670 diameter. Thanks for the help..

I have a friend that shots and Extrema with a Kicks choke. Throws a nice pattern with Winchester's Xtended Range Turkey Loads.

You need to decide witch size shot your going to use. The .670 is made to be used with # 6`s and the .680 is made to use with #4`s and #5`s.

Well I shoot #6 shot. Basspro lists .670 and .680, but kicks website calls for a .675 choke for the Xtrema with #6 shot, 3 1/2 shells. I looked online and cant find anybody with one of these in .675 in stock. Any suggestions?

Thanks, hollow

Yes, I see where they call for a .675 for #6 shot using 3 1/2" on the Kicks web site. But when I tried to add it to the cart it did not come up. Only #4 and #5 shot in 3 1/2" which is a .680. I think the .675 is a typo and should be a .670. Why don`t you give Kicks a call and see what they say. 1-800-587-2779

If it`s not a typo then I would go with a .680 for 6 in 3 1/2". Or drop down to a 3" and go with a .670. That`s what my bud uses.
