my first bird

Postby shoot-n-goose » Sat Apr 26, 2008 9:12 pm

I bagged my first turkey this morning. I got up at 4 and drive 2 hrs to my aunts and uncles farm alone (because my brother decided he doesnt like turkey hunting). I was setup at 6:30 and started calling. this tom responded at about 7:20 and i worked him for 30 minutes until i could see him. took him at 7:50 from 37 yrds. Hes 18lbs, 9in beard, 3/4in spurs. Felt pretty good doing it all by myself and it being my 3rd turkey hunt ever.
