Turky hunting books

Postby Mr. 16 gauge » Wed Apr 30, 2008 6:20 pm

Anybody recommend any good turkey hunting books? I'm looking for something that is a little above "beginner" (Novice?), as I am still relatively new to the sport, but I think I've read most of the basic beginner stuff.
Also, I would be interested in DVD/Tapes of an instructional nature.....I'm not so much interested in seeing 32 kills on tape (as one I saw at Gander Mountain had advertised) as I am learning different techniques, ect.
Thanks in advance....................

Go to this link...

They have a good selection of books/tapes/DVD's. I would highly reccomend Denny Gulvas' video Challenging Pressured Gobblers.

Anything you can find about Neil "the Gobbler" Cost. Best call maker period and a great hunter.

:welcome: Blackhawk, your best bet would be to try the CA forum for local info about the turkey hunting out there!

"The Tenth Legion" and "Better on a Rising Tide", by Tom Kelly is a must read for all new turkey hunters. Gives you a true understanding of the undertaking...and teaches the turkey hunters unspoken code of ethics... Welcomes you to the Fraternity!

The "Old Pro Turkey Hunter" ...Tips and Tactics for different temperaments of turkeys.. If you can only read one book on how to do it...This is it! It's a must read.
The Cajun 7 Course Meal; 1 lb. of boudin and a six pack of Abita beer.
