For over a month, I had been watching two toms and three jakes do the same thing probably 5 out of 7 days. They would come out at about 7:30am and come across this field parallel with the woods. The season came in and i was set up where they should be walking by. Well they mixed it up and came out in a different part of the field. Two days later I made it out again and about an hour and a half after they usually come out, i had pretty much written them off as not coming out that morning. Until I heard a noise right behind. I peaked over my right shoulder and two toms were walking right at me at about 15 feet! Of course they seen me and went the other way. I swung around connected on the back turkey at about 30 yards. 18 lbs, 12 inch beard, 1 1/8" spurs.

I took it with my Mossy 935 that I had just painted using Stumps method in the gun forum. Check out that topic for the close up pics.

Congrats, Nice bird. And nothing is better than turkey in the frying pan.
It's a fact that 70 percent of the people who purchase heavier tackle do so with the categorical I just lost a huge snook! Einstein Hairdo. The other 30 percent have either Tarpon Fever or are sporting a hand cramped into a claw from a deepwater grouper.

Man, how did I miss this post

GREAT first turkey sir. Well played game on the hunt as well. I hope that you mounted atleast the fan and beard, plus cleaned up and displayed those spurs.

Hell man, I taught the camo job looked good on the thread but it looks really great out in the woods. You did a fantastic job

Hope you had a great day showing off both of your trophies that day
